Ithra PiCon: Striking Chords with a World-First Laser Harp

Action and Reaction: A Unique Interactive Art Installation

At Ithra’s annual PiCon science fest in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, PearlQuest unveiled a truly revolutionary experience. We engineered a life-size Laser Harp, becoming the central feature on Ithra’s lush lawns. Seven brilliant green laser beams formed a sci-fi musical instrument, augmented by an animated color spectrum beamed across the floor. This stunning public installation was a global first, captivating visitors of all ages with its unique blend of art and technology.

Visitors simply crossed the laser beams to create instant, programmed live tones. These sounds synced with versatile beats and special audio effects, giving rise to a truly unique and responsive musical experience. Whether crafting melodies on the fly or just having unbeatable fun, multiple visitors could engage simultaneously. The sheer delight from cutting light to produce harmonious sound solidified its success in engagement and client satisfaction.

This groundbreaking project perfectly embodied Ithra’s festival theme: “Action and Reaction.” PearlQuest delivered a first-hand learning experience about Newton’s third law, using advanced sensor-based audio-visual technology. The Laser Harp transformed the lawns into a fantastical, interactive space, proving our capability to deliver captivating, educational, and universally appealing immersive installations.
